Success and Failures

Have you ever tried to figure out why it is so hard for you to start an exercise routine, diet, etc.?

Working in the fitness industry for many years opens your eyes to the fact that everybody's walk of life is different. I believe that everyone knows how important it is to have a healthy lifestyle. I truly feel the fear of failure is one of everyone's biggest walls to overcome in initiating a change, and staying consistent. It's the fact that 95% of people have either failed on a diet, exercise routine, or just not even started because they feel like they are already that far behind.

Fail early, fail often, but always fail forward.

Personally I've failed so many times in this aspect of my life. I remember how hard it was for me to keep going and not give up. Even though there were times I did give up and stop, or found a better excuse to not continue. I had to change my thought process, take those small things that I learned, and figure out how I could use it in a positive way. It’s funny how much we feel we know ourselves, but then we continually find new things. I've been on many sides of the table, such as needing to lose weight, overcoming an injury, being at 5% body fat, gaining forty pounds in a week, working too much, hormones, stress, family, money, sickness etc. I literally have been through many different situations in my life where I have to make a decision, to give up or keep going.

I look at the time when I competed and told clients that I wish I had never done it at all. No because of what it could do to you physically but mentally. You get into a head space of always comparing yourself to you. Which can be good and bad. I feel we as people always compare ourselves to our best or worse form. Trying to find your happy medium for your lifestyle but also making sure it's something that is going to be beneficial for your health. We have to make sure that we keep that in line and try to be as preventative as possible. We all are going to pay for our health somewhere down the road, the goal is to try to stay ahead of the curve as much as possible. Are you going to fail at times? Yes.

Truly failing is not continuing at all.

Take those failures and apply them to what you are currently doing. Just because you don’t hit your goal the first, second, third, etc. doesn't mean you can’t still accomplish it. Find Your Truth, be honest with yourself and keep pushing forward. Your success will be made in your failures.
